Blue Archive Goz Team Strategy Guide: How to Master the Slumpia Raid

Blue Archive Goz Team Strategy Guide

In Blue Archive, raid content is where strategy truly shines—and nowhere is this more evident than in the intense showdown against Slumpia: Goz.  To succeed, players must carefully build a “Goz team,” a tailored squad of characters that can overcome the boss’s unique mechanics across two distinct phases. But crafting that perfect team isn’t just about high stats or flashy skills—it’s about understanding the roles each unit plays and how they synergize under pressure.

Whether you’re a seasoned Sensei or diving into raid content for the first time, this guide breaks down the key components of a successful Goz team and the tactical thinking behind each role.

What Is the “Goz Team” in Blue Archive?

What Is the “Goz Team” in Blue Archive

The “Goz team” refers to a lineup of handpicked students assembled specifically to tackle the Slumpia: Goz boss in Blue Archive’s raid mode.

Unlike general-purpose teams, a Goz team is fine-tuned to counter the multi-phase fight structure of this raid.

Phase 1 involves heavy AoE damage management and multiple targets, while Phase 2 demands precision and focused fire on the real Goz hidden among decoys.

Victory lies not just in raw power, but in balanced composition: a mix of tank, support, and damage-dealing units, each performing critical tasks to stabilize the fight and dish out damage efficiently.

Phase 1: Surviving the Swarm

The first phase of the Slumpia: Goz fight throws waves of automatons at your team alongside Goz itself.

Here, your primary focus is twofold: AoE crowd control and survivability.

Tank Role – Holding the Line

Yuuka, a Striker unit specializing in Explosive damage and acting as a Tank in the FRONT line

A standout in this phase is Yuuka (Sportswear). Not only does she absorb a substantial amount of incoming damage, but her repositioning abilities allow her to protect squishier units by adjusting the formation mid-fight.

Her shield generation further boosts your team’s staying power—especially important when automaton waves flood the field. A tank like Yuuka is the glue that holds your front line together during the chaos of Phase 1.

Support Role – AoE Cleanup and Healing

Koharu (Swimsuit) brings invaluable AoE damage, acting as both a healer and a damage dealer. Her skills allow her to wipe out clusters of enemies while keeping the team topped up.

This duality makes her ideal for early control, as she clears space and preserves your team’s energy for Phase 2.

Pairing Koharu with another AoE-support hybrid can give you even more breathing room during the first wave, especially if you’re aiming for a 3-star clear or time-based ranking.

Damage Role – Consistent and Wide-Ranged

For DPS, Hanako (Swimsuit) is a reliable choice. Her AoE attacks help reduce the pressure from the swarm of automatons, and her skill animations are timed well for consistent output.

In a raid where delay can cost you a phase, reliable AoE damage from units like Hanako ensures you move into Phase 2 with minimal casualties.

Phase 2: Finding the Real Goz

The second phase is more deceptive than destructive. Goz duplicates itself, hiding among clones. This stage demands sharp detection, burst damage, and coordination.

Support Role – Precision Targeting

Utazumi Sakurako from the popular mobile game Blue Archive. This particular depiction showcases her idol version, which she adopted during the "Serenade Promenade" event as part of the Trinity Festival

Sakurako becomes a clutch player in this phase thanks to her “Focus Fire” ability. When used correctly, she can zero in on the correct Goz, directing your entire team’s firepower where it matters.

Missing this detail means wasting resources on decoys, so having Sakurako on the team can turn the tide.

Damage Role – Sniper Vision and Burst

Iroha is your recon expert here. With her ability to track the real Goz, she allows your entire team to conserve skills and time. Her kit is tailored for this specific mechanic, and bringing her in not only ensures correct targeting but adds a layer of confidence to your strategy.

Back her up with single-target burst DPS units to shred Goz down once identified. Units with high crit potential or quick cooldowns shine here, especially if you’re chasing optimal rankings.

Goz Team Composition in Practice

So what does a balanced Goz team look like?

Role Recommended Units Purpose
Tank Yuuka (Sportswear) Damage absorption, repositioning, shielding
Support Sakurako, Koharu (Swimsuit) Focus Fire, AoE damage, sustain
DPS Hanako (Swimsuit), Iroha AoE clear (Phase 1), real Goz detection (P2)

This team format provides a cohesive response to each phase’s distinct demands. The synergy ensures that you’re not just reacting to Goz—but actively controlling the pace of the fight.

Why Team Balance Matters

The temptation to fill a raid team with all-out attackers is real, but Goz punishes tunnel vision. Without a tank like Yuuka, your DPS may not survive the automaton waves.

Without Sakurako or Iroha, you could burn cooldowns on clones. Every slot on your team serves a purpose, and understanding that purpose is what separates a good team from a Goz-clearing powerhouse.

Final Thoughts

Blue Archive’s Goz raid is a litmus test for strategic depth. It’s not just about which units you have—it’s about how you use them together. Whether you’re climbing the leaderboards or just trying to clear with three stars, mastering the Goz team formation is one of the most satisfying challenges the game has to offer.

As the community continues to optimize team comps and uncover new unit synergies, one thing remains clear: the perfect Goz team isn’t just built—it’s carefully crafted, tested, and tuned through experience.

So ready your formation, Sensei. The Slumpian threat awaits.
